On May 1964, Asua brothers and sister - Patxi, Juan Cruz, Dominga and - opened the ANDRA MARI RESTAURANT. The restaurant was settled in the lower part of the Asua family´s country house. Its basement was turned into a tavern which became a well known meeting place for the Galdakao people. These were the basis for the ANDRA MARI RESTAURANT, and from then on it has turned out to be one of the most outstanding examples of basque gastronomy.
